On BBC Xtra (Arabic)there was an episode about Greek music whether the effect was onTurkish music or the other way round. To my knowledge there was Roman music Greek music etc. To the best of my knowlege previous greek music was nothing like the greek music of today. The modern greek music is the effect of Turkish music eg the Buzuki is not a Greek instrument. The effect came after Turkish occupation of some parts of Eastern Europe as in food and other social effects.
