Mourad Diouri
Mourad Diouri is an eLearning Lecturer in Arabic as a foreign language at CASAW (Centre for the Advanced Study of the Arab World), which a consortium between the three Universities of Edinburgh, Manchester, and Durham. He is a registered practitioner and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
His teaching career started at the University of East Anglia, where he taught Arabic at Beginner-Intermediate level for 4 years. In addition, he taught Basic skills (ESOL, Numeracy and Literacy) in futher education colleges, HM prisons and Adult Education Council centres within the Norfolk region of England.
He is also the author of v-Arabic.com and e-Arabic.com.
v-Arabic.com is a searchable database of digitised/virtual language realia (i.e. authentic real-life items which reflects the target language and culture) for Arabic learners and teachers worldwide.
e-Arabic.com is a growing directory of eLanguage Learning Tools designed to encourage and guide Arabic learners and teachers to adopt technology-enhanced learning/teaching tools.
As a result of integrating technology into language teaching, as well as designing a unique Arabic language programme from scratch, Mourad has won an Award of Excellence in Teaching in 2005 for innovative course design and teaching strategies from the University of East Anglia.
