The following is a collection of 10 musical/non-musical educational videos intended to teach the Arabic alphabet.

Alphabet songs are songs used to teach children the alphabet, used in kindergartens, pre-schools and homes around the world.

Learning the alphabet from fun educational children videos is very efficient. Through fun songs, animal pictures and other attention-grabbing sounds and visuals, these entertaining and educational videos you will memorise the alphabet sounds and letters quickly.

They are very fun to watch and they suit any individual learning style.

Learning/Pedagogical Applications

• A user-friendly approach to mastering and teaching the Arabic letters and sounds in the classroom
• The following educational videos will help you to:
  • Memorise and consolidate the pronunciation of the alphabet (isolated and with the three short vowels)

Musical Alphabet

This video clip is taken from an educational TV programme called “Kumpulan Alif Iqra” – very cute children singing the alphabet.

Probably the best way to learn the alphabet is the way we used to as children; to sing it!

This video is a song by some Malaysian children. Their pronunciation of certain letters is not totally accurate, but still very good.

Fairy Tale 2 : The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids – الأرنب و الثعلب

(Original: Der Wolf und die sieben Geißlein) is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm, tale number 5

A mother goat warns her kids to be wary of the wolf and goes off. The wolf comes and claims to be their mother. They tell him his voice is harsh, while hers is soft. He goes and eats a chunk of chalk to make it soft. They tell him his paws are black, while hers are white. He goes to the miller and gets flour on his paws. They let him in, and he, tearing apart the house to find them, eats them all except the youngest, who hid in the clock.

The mother returns to the damage and the youngest emerges. She steps outside, and they find the wolf sleeping, and something struggling in his stomach. They cut him open, and the other six emerge alive. She puts in stones instead. When he wakes, he goes to a well to drink, and the stones drag him in, so he drowns.

The BBC has launched a new Arabic language TV channel.

The channel is free to everyone in North Africa and the Middle East with a satellite or cable connection.

It will distinguish itself from other state-funded channels by reporting “without fear or favour”, BBC World Service director Nigel Chapman said.

This is the BBC’s second attempt at an Arabic channel. The first closed in 1996 in the wake of an editorial dispute with its Saudi funders.

The Arabic Program at Brigham Young University is developing various internet based learning resources to supplement Arabic Language Learning.
In conjunction with Prof. Muhammad Eissa and the NMERLC, BYU is developing an Egyptian Spoken Arabic program to expose students to real spoken Arabic situations through internet video.

The segments, filmed in Alexandria, expose students to progressively more complicated social situations.

This short video clip presents different types of greetings in colloquial Egyptian Arabic.
